I was pleasantly surprised to be able to get pictures of not just one, but two frogs within a day of each other, one near the ruins of the Coran (which some know better by the name Spirit Rock) just off the Bruce Trail north of Wiarton, Ontario.
Many of my hiking adventures (in Ontario, at least) tend to be on the Bruce. This is part due to being raised in Bruce county and having a natural affinity for the trail, but also partly due to the fact that the trail follows the Niagara Escarpment all the way. Most of the escarpment is undeveloped, and will remain that way as a UNESCO Biospehere Reserve.
The other frog, was about 100 km southwest and far from any known trail, sitting politely in a ditch off of the township line of Elderslie and Brant, near an old and very rustic iron bridge over the Teeswater River (which I'll likely have photos from posted on another date).
I find I don't have much yet to say about these two creatures. I believe they are the first amphibians I have ever taken photos of.
That said, I'm really getting a knack for sharing these photos and posting little stories. It's quite fun, and not time consuming at all. I always knew I'd have something interesting to do with these photos I take every once and a while.
