Spirtuality and Practice on the web

Film, audio, books, and even e-courses.

These are just some of the offerings of a unique website shared with me in the last few months. A retired collegue and friend had been actively utilizing their e-courses, and watching movies and reading books based on reviews on this site.

While there are many sites out there to review films, this is one of the few that will do it via a perspective of appreciative inquiry. They also manage to be more observational, rather than evaluative. Something that is rare, and seemingly difficult for many reviewers to even consider, let alone engage in.

Also to be appreciated, is their spiritual, rather than religious, perspective. Unlike a plurality of sites that review films, books, and other media based on a measurement of value versus a religious source text, Spirituality and Practice tends to rather reference particular themes present in a work. Their goal seems more about observing and appreciating the diversity of spiritual content in both the likely and unlikely sources.

While I can't speak to the quality of their e-courses first-hand, I can say this is a surprisingly pleasant site where one can find an alternative model to reviewing media. A model that has in kind inspired me to share reviews here on NoAdversary.org as a key feature of the site. I may yet get a chance to try out the e-courses, as certainly their approach to the rest of the site inspires me to at the very least support them and give it a try.
