Bruce County from 20,000 Feet

Bruce County from 20,000 Feet Robert Gerald Porter

During last year's trip to Winnipeg, I got the amazing opportunity to get a clear sight of Bruce County from far, far above.

It's taken from really, really high up (20,000 feet is a very rough guess), high enough to clearly see the curvature of the Earth and low-lying clouds to look like they're far, far below.

This was the first time in a flight I could actually see the Bruce properly, every other flight either being too late, or I was on the wrong side, or too cloudy.

What is very apparent in the air is the sheer narrowness of the peninsula, which is something not as easily experienced from the ground, due to the reletive flatness of the peninsula. Sure, the escarpment goes pretty high, but it faces the wrong way to see how narrow the peninsula really is.
